Voice Lock Screen

This Privacy Policy explains how GoGone (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Voice Lock Screen Android application (the “App”).
Voice Lock Screen provides a customizable lock-screen overlay. It is not a replacement for Android’s system lock, device encryption, biometric authentication or account security.
Information processed for app features
Speech input. The App uses the speech-recognition service selected on your Android device to convert speech into text during phrase setup, confirmation and use of the custom lock screen. Depending on the provider and device settings, speech may be processed on the device or sent to the provider. We do not intentionally save raw audio recordings.
Protected voice and PIN verifiers. The recognized voice phrase and four-digit backup PIN are normalized and converted into salted, iterated verifiers stored in private local app preferences. The App uses these verifiers for comparison and does not need to retain the readable phrase or PIN after setup. Legacy plaintext values, if present from an older version, are migrated after successful verification.
Preferences and setup state. The App stores wallpaper selection/unlock state, sound and vibration preferences, service state, permission-setup state and related configuration locally on the device.
Advertising and automatically collected data
The App uses Google Mobile Ads and can display adaptive banner ads, an app-open ad on eligible returning launches, occasional interstitial ads after a completed task and optional rewarded ads chosen by the user to unlock wallpapers. Google Mobile Ads may automatically collect and share:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
- app interactions such as launches, taps, ad views and video views;
- diagnostic and performance information; and
- device or account identifiers, including advertising ID and app set ID where available.
This data is used for advertising, analytics, security and fraud prevention. Google handles it under Google’s policies. The App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to request or update advertising consent and provide privacy choices where required. Consent choices can affect ad personalization but do not necessarily stop all limited-ad data processing.
Permissions and special access
- Microphone: recognizes the voice phrase during setup and while the custom Voice Lock screen is active. When protection is enabled, this can operate through a visible foreground service while the main App is not open.
- Display over other apps: lets the custom lock-screen overlay appear above other apps. The user enables or disables this access manually in Android Settings.
- Notifications: displays the ongoing foreground-service notification and service information.
- Internet and network state: support advertising and recognition providers that require a connection.
- Wake lock and vibration: support lock-screen operation and optional feedback.
How information is used
Information is processed to provide voice/PIN matching, maintain user preferences, operate the user-enabled custom lock screen, provide advertising, diagnose performance, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations.
Sharing
First-party code does not upload saved voice or PIN verifiers to a GoGone server. Speech may be processed by the recognition provider selected on the device. Google Mobile Ads collects or shares advertising-related technical data as described above. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect users, rights and services.
Retention, backup and deletion
Local verifiers and preferences remain until they are replaced, app storage is cleared or the App is uninstalled. Android cloud backup is disabled for the App and credential preferences are also excluded from backup/data transfer rules. Advertising and speech-provider data is retained under the relevant provider’s policies and account/device controls.
Security
We use private app storage, salted iterative verification and platform controls to reduce risk, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Keep Android’s system screen lock enabled and do not reuse important banking, email or account credentials.
Your choices
- Turn Voice Lock protection off in the App.
- Decline or revoke microphone, notification or overlay access.
- Change the saved voice phrase or PIN.
- Choose free wallpapers without watching a rewarded ad.
- Open Privacy Choices where Google UMP requires that option.
- Clear app storage or uninstall to remove local app information.
- Manage advertising ID and personalization controls through Google/Android settings.
Children’s privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Target-audience and ad settings in Google Play and AdMob should be configured consistently with this statement.
International processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than the user’s own. Their safeguards, terms and legal obligations apply to their processing.
Changes
We may update this policy when features, SDKs or legal requirements change. The revised version will have a new effective date.
